Saw several interesting flats today.
The top picture is from a large loft (1900 sf) on the edges of Shoreditch with a roof garden as big as the flat itself. Comes with a gardener, and there's a glass-walled conservatory on the deck as well. Several problems, however. Not in a great neighborhood. And owners won't be leaving until August.
Second picture is from New Concordia Wharf in Shad Thames. I liked this one much more than Dan. Huge space, about 1800 sf. Wonderful bathrooms and open kitchen. Problems: low beamed ceilings, no AC, no lift (it's 3 flights up), and not much of a view. Still, I felt very happy inside of this space.
Third picture is Tea Trade Wharf, also Shad Thames. We put in a bid on this one (you have to bid for rentals). This most closely matches our apartment at 50 Murray. All nice and new, with sleek appliances. About 1500 sf, a little less than 50 Murray, but fine. Lots of open sky view and you can see the tips of the Eye and the Gherkin and a slice of river. Not sure we'll get it because someone else bid on it today as well.
I don't have a picture (because Dan was with me by then) of another place we're considering in Wapping. Smaller than the others but it was redeemed by a huge wraparound balcony (on the river) with spectacular views of the city and London Bridge. The apartment itself was not as nice as the others, but the view made it all worthwhile.
