Upside of the Recession

Last week, listening to WNYC, I heard Richard Florida say that both New York and London should weather this recession fine because they are open, diverse, creative centers. You can read his entire article in the Atlantic about how different places will respond to this financial crisis, which he sees as a time of opportunity as well as devastation.

Well-educated professionals and creative workers who live together in dense ecosystems, interacting directly, generate ideas and turn them into products and services faster than talented people in other places can.
